About us

We – that is the whole TaKiBo team and the support association (Trägerverein) - TaKiBo were founded on 1 July 1998 and opened its doors on 1 September 1998.

The association has the task of ensuring the operation and maintenance of the Kindergarten. It is concerned in particular with purchasing, administration and control of the financial means.

The TaKiBo team consists of the full-time Kindergarten teacher Nancy Bergner, one trainee and an assistant.

Our approach

In our preschool children between 2 1/2 and 5 years old are offered the opportunity, with contemporary Montessori teaching, to try out their independence in all areas so they can learn to learn.

Contemporary means that we apply the methods developed by Maria Montessori at the beginning of the last century in theory and enrich them with other teaching methods from conventional Kindergarten and pre-school.

The children should experience themselves, in contact with other children of different ages, and establish relationships outside the family.

Children from other language backgrounds are offered the opportunity to adjust themselves playfully to the Swiss German language during the pre-school period.

What we offer

Our preschool is located in a child-friendly area offering small groups of up to 12 children. The sunny apartment offers many possibilities for learning practical activities. A small garden and nearby playground provide for outdoor play in a safe environment.

The children are looked after by our well-trained and committed Montessori teacher Mrs. Nancy Bergner half-days and full days, following the Montessori method.

Mrs. Bergner grew up in America. As a qualified Montessori Kindergarten teacher, she brings practical experience from her teaching work in America and Switzerland. She is supported by one trainee, together with an assistant.

On three days in the week, we offer the option of lunch (at present: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday). The lunch is delivered fresh by Gasthof Hirschen in Wettswil. We also offer the possibility of lunch and afternoon care for Kindergarten aged children from 12:00- 17:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
